Spring Term

Champions For Change

This term the children have formed political parties! They have written their manifesto and stated what they think they could do to improve something for their friends. This was based on our research of change-makers in the past, including the suffragette movement.

The children created a display to promote their party.

Using online vector graphics, the parties created their logos to communicate what they stood for. They elected a party leader and wrote a speech. They practised this, working on hand gestures and tone of voice.

We held an election day, where class 3 and 4 heard the speeches and voted for the party manifesto they preferred. Well done Creative Crew for winning the election! We look forward to some extra arts and performance events in the future!

DT~ appliqué sewing skills

To further develop their sewing skills and build on previous learning, the children were given the challenge of following a pattern to create an appliqué design. Check out their work in the gallery.

This work will lead to a redesign of the school banner.

Art ~ Still Life

Inspired by the work of Cezanne, the children have begun still life drawing. Check the gallery for the hard at work focusing on everyday containers.

World Book Day

The pupils created movie trailers for the book Holes while in their costumes. Watch them below!
