Board of Governors
The Academy Trust is a company limited by guarantee and an exempt charity. The Charitable Company's memorandum and articles of association are the primary governing documents of the academy trust. The Governors act as the trustees for the charitable activities of Enmore Church of England Primary School and are also the Directors of the Charitable company for the purposes of Company law.
It is a requirement of our Funding Agreement with the Education Skills & Funding Agency (ESFA) that in the interests of transparency we must publish up to date details of our governance arrangements.
The Governing Body is supported by its six committees, membership of which is derived from within its own Body. The constitution, membership, terms of reference and delegated powers of the committees are reviewed and approved annually and recorded in the school's "Standing Orders".
Governing Body and Annual General meeting minutes are available on request, please contact peaglestone-gunter@enmoreprimaryschool.org
For each member and trustee who has served at any point over the past 12 months, their full names, date of appointment, date they stepped down (where applicable), and relevant business and pecuniary interests including governance roles in other educational institutions are listed below.
Membership of both the Pupil Discipline and Staff Dismissal Appeal Sub-Committees will consist of three governors taken from the pool of governors who are eligible to stand on that particular committee.
The Governors at Enmore Primary School believe it is important that the board reflects the diversity of the school communities they serve. Diverse boards promote inclusive school environments and provide diverse role models for staff and young people.
The Governors are currently collecting data on the diversity of the board, including data on age, gender and ethnicity. They will use that data to inform their recruitment and training needs and ensure a diverse range of perspectives around the table to support robust decision-making.
Due to our relatively small governing body, we do not publish this diversity data online as individual governors could be identified and we have a legal obligation to protect their personal data.
Chair of Governing Body: Mrs. L. Smith
Safeguarding Governor: Mrs. W. Kilbey
SEND Governor: Miss D. Mortimer
