Spring Term

Play in a Day

This term started off with a visit to Taunton School for 'Play in a Day'; a chance to learn songs, dances and a script to produce a play for family and friends. A busy day, but we had a great time and were proud of our achievements. Thank you to all the friendly staff for such a great day.

Final run through with lights and costumes!

Science Day ~ January 2016 ~ Water

We had a great day investigating and asking questions about WATER, such as:

  • How cold is ice and can you make it cooler?
  • Can you pick up ice without touching it?
  • Can water move on it's own?
  • Can you make an egg float?

We planned our experiments (making sure our tests were fair), predicted what we thought would happen, recorded results and made conclusions from what we had observed.

Practising reading scales by checking the temperature change of ice when salt is added.

Moving ice with just cotton and salt!

Coloured water moving from one container to another by capillary action

Speeding up the freezing process with salt to make our own fruit juice slushies in record time!

Planning and making careful measurements to change the density of water. We CAN make a raw egg float!
