Spring term

The Big Sing day at Wellington School~ a fun day out and singing performance on the last day of spring term.

As we looked at our topic on Climate change, we researched ways of making energy other than using fossil fuels. We worked together in groups to design a windmill that was light and could catch the wind effectively. See our models below and watch the clips of some of them turning!

Spring chicks! We had chance to handle the chicks that hatched at school and enjoyed watching them grow.

We have been studying historical events, and are busy creating art work showing these key moments. They will arrive here soon! We have created a timeline and are learning where these events come in chronological order.

Part of our learning has involved studying texts from the past, and we have explored imagery and poetic devices from The Highwayman, written 100 years ago and set in the Georgian era, when highwayman were notorious.

Class 5 have learnt a shortened version of the classic narrative poem by Alfred Noyes. Watch us say it together from memory!

“By working together in an exciting, creative and supportive Christian environment we will challenge and inspire every child to become highly literate, numerate, sociable and healthy, with a thirst for continued learning and a belief in their ability to become significant citizens”
