While the Year 5s were away on the Isle of Wight, the Year 4s spent the week learning about the Rainforest. As part of the week, we visited Bristol zoo to find out more.
We also took part in a Rainforest Experience workshop. The children learnt all about the different layers of the rainforest and the animals that live in them. They got the chance to hold a Hissing Cockroach and stroke a Brazilian Rainbow Boa and a Tenrec.
The children were given time to explore a range of items from the rainforest in a number of activities. The children also worked out, that during the hour we were in the classroom, 1380 hectares of rainforest were cut down.
