The signs we use are from Somerset Total Communication (STC). STC encourage us to use our voices, gestures, faces and hands when speaking to people. We learn to sign the alphabet so we can finger-spell our names. We also learn lots of other signs about everyday things, e.g. colours, favourite animals and days of the week.
