Money In The Working World

Money in the Working World. What an exciting week this turned out to be!! Many thanks to ALL our parents who took part. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Thanks to you we have learnt about Business, Banking. Farming, Nursing, Lorry Driving, Cake Making (thank you for the samples!!), Railway Maintenance (Wow!!....such big machines!!),IT systems, Beauty Therapy, Engineering, being a Doctor, a Vet, a Teacher in a Special School, a Community Nurse, a Landscape Architect a `Working Mum`....and SO much more! We have looked at everything from huge Lorries and Tractors to tiny germs on our hands!!....... and just about everything else in between!!

Mr Davies brought along his Co-Operative lorry.........

Mr Venner brought along his pigs...........

 

Mr Dillon talked to us about cars and engineering........

Mrs Kilbey told us about being a Doctor......

 

Miss Lockyer told us what qualities we would need to become a good Nurse......

and Mrs Dray let us look at the germs on our hands and hear our blood circulating......

 
 

From Mr and Mrs Bartels of Castle Vets we learnt about taking care of our pets......

 

.......and Mrs Venner showed us how to take care of our nails!!.......

 

Mrs Perry-Wilkinson explained about teaching in a Special School......

 
 

Mr Finlay from Lloyds bank talked to us about money.....

Mrs Marsh spoke about staring a business and the `Dragon`s Den` programme.....

Mr Gillespie explained about cake making .......

Mrs Baugh told us all about being a Landscape Architect and how hard it can be being a `working Mum` ......

 

Mr King talked about IT systems, programming and software............

and Mr Otley told us all about railway maintenance...

 

Mr Fieldhouse came and told us all about safety systems in big machines and Mrs Kingston explained how our eyes work and how we can care for them.

During the week Class 5 ran a `Snack Shack` serving healthy snacks at playtime and raising funds for the PTA.

They held a board meeting.....

....oganised an advertising team....

....and served snacks in the hall.

 
 

During assembly that week we looked at the different currencies used across the world. Each morning new countries and new currencies were added to our World Map.

Overall it proved to be a very busy and very interesting week!
