HEALTH AND SAFETY WEEK 2009

Health and Safety Week was a very busy week for all the classes!

Many activities and visits were planned and the children had an interesting and educational experience.

Amongst other things we had a visit from the Fire Brigade…….

and a visit from the Police Community Liason officers….

The children also had First Aid lessons from Mrs Nash….

The value of regular exercise was promoted as the children learned a new Wake and Shake routine and practised their skipping. Some classes prepared and tasted healthy food dishes.

Some classes went on the internet to explore various aspects of Health and Safety.

At the end of the week Mrs Nash presented the children with their `First Aid `certificates.

Aspects included on the certificate presented to the older children are:

• Safety of First Aider
• Emergency telephone Calls
• Minor and Major Bleeding
• Fracture Management
• Unconscious casualty
• Resuscitation
• Burns and Scalds
